BORDER-SOUNDSCAPE
Recording (at) the border
Other then making images from areas at border spots, this sub-project is all about sound mapping of the European borders by making field recordings.
These places often have very interesting soundscapes. One can hear everything that happens, but at a greater distance that creates a very intriguing
sense of emptiness and silence. The project is based on a series of ambient recordings and other recordings made with microphones placed on the
border crossings and border areas, sometimes with contact microphones placed on objects, structures like fences etc.
